Xi'an is served by Xianyang Airport, which is located around 35 kilometers northwest of the city center, about one hour's drive. As it is the fourth largest airport in China, there are several daily flights linking Xi'an to the major tourist stops such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Urumuqi. There are also a few flights to Lhasa and international flights to Hong Kong, Macao and Japan.Visitors can take a taxi to the airport for about 80 yuan.

Xian Railway Station is a major railway junction where trains go to northwest and southwest China. As an important gateway to access to the western region of China, Xian Railway Station mainly operates trains running through Longhai Railway, Xikang Railway (Xi’an -Ankang), Ningxi Railway (Xi’an- Nanjing), and Baoxi Railway (Baotou-Xi’an), and can reach all the major cities in China, including Lhasa in Tibet.

Xian North railway station is a railway station on the Zhengxi Passenger Railway, Xibao Passenger Railway and Daxi Passenger Railway. The station is located in Weiyang District of Xian. It is some 10 km north of the city center and the Xian railway station.The station has 34 platforms. It is the largest railway station in Northwest China. The station is connected to downtown Xian by Line 2 of Xian Metro at Bei Kezhan Station.Xian North Railway Station is only for high-speed trains. It is the city's main bullet train station, and since it is linked to the Metro Line 2 that goes directly to the Bell Tower and other local highlights, you can use this station to fairly quickly and efficiently visit highlights from most major cities in China.

Currently there are Line 1 .Line 2. Line 3 in operation in XI'an.The north-south line 2 currently links between Beikezhan (North Railway Station) and Huizhanzhongxin (Conference & Exhibition Center) with major stops at the famous Bell Tower in the city center, Xiaozhai commercial area The line 1 runs from Houweizhai in the west to Fangzhicheng in the east. Linking Yuhuazhai and Baoshuiqu, line 3 passes scenic spots like Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Qinglong Temple.

 There are two kinds of taxis in XIan. One is green taxis that start at 6 RMB  (7 RMB after 11 pm) for the first two kilometers and add 1.5 RMB for each additional kilometer. There are also more expensive luxury black taxis that start at 8 RMB and add 2.4 RMB for each additional kilometer. To take a taxi to the Xi'an Train Station or the Bell Tower costs about 100 RMB . There is an additional 10 RMB toll for the toll highway that isn’t reflected in the meter’s price and is added on. To take a taxi to the Terracotta Warriors, the metered fee is about 85 RMB and the toll fee is about 15 RMB.
