Xinjiekou is Nanjing's fashion district, the cosmopolitan, fast-paced heart of the city bathed in neon. It's the closest thing Nanjing has to Shinjuku in Tokyo or Times Square in New York. There has famous shopping mall, like DongFang Shopping Centre and Deji Plaza.

Hunan Road is a slightly more low-key version of Xinjiekou running between Xuanwu Lake and Zhongshanbei Lu. There is also a small pedestrianised street called Shiziqiao running south from Hunan Road which is lined with pretty much every variety of restaurant imaginable, including fast-food restaurants and international restaurants.

It is in the south of the city has a lot of shopping, especially clothing and tourist items. It is a maze of tiny individual shops, and fun to explore even if you are not buying. If you are interesting in buying, haggling over prices is the name of the game here. This is a Nanjing shopping experience you will want to return to again and again. At the Aqua City Shopping Centre across from the Confucius temple you’ll find retailer stores including H&M, Zara, and Mango.

Cloud Brocade is a traditional silk product originally from China's Southern Dynasties (420 - 589). It was popular during the Ming and Qing Dynasty. Try looking around the Confucius Temple area and on Hunan Lu for this brocade. The most authentic one is produced by the Nanjing Brocoade Research Institute in the Gulou area, and the subordinate Nanjing Brocoade Museum is also nearby. 

Yuhua Pebble is a kind of agate stone. It is mainly produced in Liuhe, Nanjing and Yuetang, Yizheng City. You can buy it from LiuheYuhua Pebble Market, Nanyi Back Street, Cultural Heritage Store and Craft Art Building of Fuzi Temple, and Qingliang Mountain. Ordinary thumb-sized pebbles cost only a few tens of dollars, and there may be hundreds or thousands of Chinese painting styles or special styling patterns.
