It is the largest airport in Yunnan, serving both domestic and international flights. It offers direct flights to and from major cities in Yunnan, China, and Southeast Asia, such as Beijing, Xi'an, Guilin, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Bangkok. It is located 22 km outside of the urban area and the subway Line 6 to it is operational in time. Besides that, there are about 6 lines of airport transfer buses leading to hotels and passenger terminals in downtown. A taxi there will take about 30–40 minutes.

At present, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guiyang, Kunming and Xishuangbanna have opened direct flights to Lijiang. Most tourists choose to fly to Kunming first, and take a ride from Kunming to Lijiang, which is a more economical choice. There has airport bus to city center, costs 20 yuan.

Dali Airport is located to the east of New City, 13 km from South Gate. Direct flights include Beijing Capital, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Guiyang, Kunming, Shanghai-Hongqiao, Shenzhen and Xishuangbanna. From airport to city center, you can take bus or taxi. Go to Dali ancient town costs 90 yuan by taxi.Dali - Kunming: The flight is available daily and the journey takes about 40 minutes.Dali - Xishuangbanna (Jinghong): Daily flights and takes 50 minutes..Dali - Guangzhou: The flight is daily, about 3 and half hours.Dali-Chengdu, Dali-Chongqing: There are regular flights every week.

It offers direct flights to/from three cities: Kunming, Lhasa, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Guangzhou. The airport is about 5 km (3 mi) from downtown Shangri-La. There is no shuttle bus at present. Taxis cost about 30 yuan.

It has 3 airline routes: to/from Shanghai, Chengdu, and Chongqing.

Kunming has four railway stations, and two of them are mainly used. One is the Kunming Railway Station, about four kilometers from the center of the city, which would take about 10 yuan within 15 minutes by Taxi to. Trains to Dali, Lijiang, Yuxi etc., run every day. Another is Kunming South Railway Station, 28 km from Railway Station.  This station operate bullet trains to/from major cities in China, such as Shanghai, Nanning, Hangzhou, Yiwu etc. 

Lijiang only has one passenger train station, Lijiang station. You can find a train to Dali, Kunming or other cities easily.

Dali Railway Station is located on the southeast side of Dali City. It is the railway hub of Dali. It can reach Kunming City to the east and Lijiang City to the north with convenient transportation. There are buses that go to Dali Old Town directly.

Kunming has now opened Metro Lines 1, 2 and 6, with fares ranging from 2-7 yuan. Other cities of Yunnan province don’t have metro until now.

Kunming taxi starting price is 8 yuan (including 3km), fuel costs 2 yuan. After 22:00, starting price at 9 yuan, more than 3km is 1.8 yuan / km. If the taxi to Shilin, the new airport and other places, passengers need to pay the toll.

There are a lot of taxis in Lijiang. During the day, Xiali starts at 6 yuan, and then charges 1.6 yuan/km. Santana starts at 7 yuan, and then charges 1.8 yuan / km. The taxi starting price is 11 yuan at night. Some drivers can provide chartered services to attractions such as Yunshanping and Yufeng Temple. The price can be negotiated with the driver.

The taxi starting price in Dali City is 8 yuan during the day and 10 yuan at night. Taxi driver often doesn’t meter from Xiaguan to Dali Airport, Dali Ancient Town and some scenic spots, so confirm the price in advance.

Shangri-La is a small town. The taxi fare is about 7 yuan within the town. If you go to Songzanlin Temple about 10-15 yuan, go to the airport, about 20-30 yuan.
