China Art Museum
Introduction
Covering an exhibition area of 64000 square meters and a total of 27 exhibition halls, the museum is located in the former China Pavilion Expo of 2010. It remains one of the largest art museums in Asia housing at least 14000 modern pieces of art. The construction of the building was inspired by the Chinese corbel bracket called daugong as well as the ancient bronze cauldron called ding.
The museum floors are named by altitude and during a tour you will start from the top floor to the lowest floor going through rooms that were once used to display works of art from The British Museum (London), Maisons de Victor Hugo (Paris), the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam), Te Papa (Wellington) and the Whitney (New York). In addition to this, the museum also hosts special themed exhibitions like during its first year of inauguration it was home to over a dozen international level pieces of art.
Although the Museum entrance fee is completely free of charge, you need to book an entry ticket two days in advance to be sure of a visit pass.
