Western Hill

　　The western mountain lies 15 miles to western suburbs of Kunming. The western mountain is consisted of Huating Mountain, taihua mountain, Luohan mountain and etc. The western mountain has a length over 40 kilometers with a latitude from 1900 meters to 2350 meters. It is said once Phoenix stop by, misregarded as a chicken by mistake, hence the origin of the name “Biji Mountain”. Because the mountain is in the shape of a lying Buddha, thus got another name “Wofo mountain. “In fairy tale, a princess run away from lonely palace and got married to a young guy outside palace. Later the king killed the guy, princess felt very sad on the death of her husband. The tear of princess became Dianchi, while the dead body of princess became the western mountain. Every March, the local resident gather in Western mountain for folk song, dragon and lion dance, picnic and other entertainments.
　　Nowadays western lake mountain became a forest park with many famous interests such as Huating Temple, taihua Temple, tower of Pure trinity, dragon gate, Nieer Tomb, Puxian temple and etc.
