Net Master Garden lies in No.11 Kuojiatouxiang, Road Chengqiao, south eastern area of city Suzhou. Net Master Garden is 120 kilometers to Shanghai Hongqiao airport.Net Master Garden is the masterpiece of Chinese ancient landscape garden. Net Master Garden was built in Chunxi, Southern Song Dynasty (1174～1189).Net Master Garden used to be the garden for a famous scholar from Yangzhou. Later, it was discarded.Until, emperor Qianlong Qing dynasty (1770),a retired officer bought it and renovated it. He changed the name to Net Master Garden.

　　Net Master Garden was built in 1174. After a few change to 1765, it became Net Master Garden and formed the current layout. Net Master Garden once had many owners who were mostly the scholars. There are poems and steles inside the garden which went through many renovation. Net Master Garden is the most typical private garden. Net Master Garden is the national key protection unit and listed as world heritage by UNESCO.

　　Net Master Garden has a tight layout and built very exquisitely with an appropriate space ratio. Net Master Garden has a very delicate garden landscape with rich culture, elegant garden ambiance, and become the representative of small ancient garden in southern water land. The theme and layout of water and mountain in Net Master Garden all have some hidden meaning. Emperor Qianlong visited Net Master Garden,renovated and enlarged it. The current Net Master Garden maintains the original complete residence and ancient water mountain garden.Current Net Master Garden covers area over 10 acres, among which garden covers area 8 acres. The garden covers area over 5 acres and the pond covers area around 447 square meters.

　　Net Master Garden is the smallest among the four most famous classic gardens in Suzhou, yet it is the most impressive. The garden is divided into three sections: the residential quarters, the central garden and the inner garden. Surrounding the big pond in the main garden, there are structures such as the Ribbon Washing Pavilion and the Pavilion of Moon and Wind Advent. As is commonly seen in Suzhou gardens, there is a small pavilion standing in the center of the pond, a bridge of less than one-foot wide linking it to the shore.When you walk in the garden's corridors, through the windows, you often catch views of beautiful flowers or plants in distance. The exquisite inner garden, recognized as the best preserved garden in Suzhou, has been copied as the Ming Hall Garden of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and miniaturized for an exhibit in the Pompidou Center in Paris in 1982.
