Day 1 Shanghai-Huangshan by High-speed Train

Tunxi Ancient Street, Tunxi Museum

Your private driver will pick you up at your Shanghai hotel lobby then transfer you to the railway station. Take the high-speed train to Huangshan city(around 2.5-3 hours). Upon arrival, local tour guide and driver will hold your name sign and take you to Tunxi Ancient Street, walk on pedestrian street as well as enjoying the exquisite architecture or Song, Ming, Qing dynasties, then take a look at the Tunxi Museum, which displays furniture from the Ming and Qing dynasties on the first floor and an exhibition of calligraphy and paintings. Check-in the hotel and relax!

The driver and tour guide will pick you up from the hotel, then take you to Mount Huang( around 1 hour). Upon arrival, take the optional cable car at Yungu Telpher Station and head to the top of the mountain. Enjoy the grandeur views and beautiful scenery of the surrounding territory, including White Goose Peak, the Beginning-to-Believe Peak, Black Tiger pine, Cloud-dispelling Pavilion, the Flying-over Rock, the Bright Summit, and the West Sea Grand Canyon. etc. Overnight in the Paiyunlou Hotel on the top of the mountain.

Sunrise, Hongcun Village

Get up early and enjoy beautiful sunrise and cloud sea, afterwards take the cable car down and go to Hongcun Village, as the film setting for Ang Lee's movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", Hong Village is a beautiful ancient village frequented by painters capturing the blend of pools, willows, and ancient architecture on canvass. Later, you will be transferred to the railway station and return to Shanghai by high-speed train. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel by your private driver.

Yes everything was spectacular and fascinating very professional and prompt services. There were beautiful places to explore and to see in the 4 hours that we had. The comfort and beauty of the China was incredible, The history, culture and way of life of the local people we bumped into during the layover was beyond our expectations. Hiking on the Great wall after driving through a small remote countryside was very relaxing and rejuvenating. It was the best trip ever to experience on a few hours.

We had not previously used a travel agency for touring. The crew including the driver and tour guide were really funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Despite having limited time we still had free time allowing for shopping and grabbing a meal and drinks. Highly recommend this layover in Beijing.

Well worth it! Jenny was really nice and incredibly helpful with the immigration process after airport personnel originally escorted to the wrong area and didn’t want to allow leaving the airport. She takes great photos! Beautiful views and fun to take the toboggan down. Wasn’t too crowded on this day - and definitely worth doing with a 7 hour layover. Nice car and driver too.

He speaks good English and very patient. He knows his stuff. I visited West Lake , Buddhist temple and the Pagoda.
