Day 4 Hangzhou-Shanghai by Private Vehicle

Lingyin Temple, Feilai Peak, West Lake Cruise, Former Residence of Hu Xueyan

On this day you will start off to visit the Lingyin Temple at first, originally built by a Buddhist monk from India. The legend also says that Feilai Peak( or called "Peak Flying from Afar") just across from the temple was transported by air to the site directly from India. Later, we will take a relaxed boat ride on the iconic West Lake. Soak in the scenery of West Lake, which is circled on one side by a modern downtown area and on the other sides by the natural beauty of hills. Next, we will visit the Former Residence of Hu Xueyan, built with an enormous sum of money by a 19th-century pharmaceutical magnate, the residence of Hu Xue Yan has been called China's Number One Mansion. After the tour, you will be transferred back to Shanghai.

Yu Garden, City God Temple Bazaar, Bund, Nanjing Road, Shanghai Museum

After breakfast, your tour guide will escort you to the old town to visit Yu Garden with a beautiful lotus pond, a bridge and a pavilion in the center. You can have a stroll in the bridge under the tea house, enjoying the scenery along the bank and later move to the City God Temple Bazaar. Here you will find all kinds of goods including artworks, souvenirs and special folk handicrafts. Later, you will tour the architectural complex of the Bund; the most prestigious landmark and best-preserved demonstration of the glamour of the old city followed by a walk on the busiest yet noisy Nanjing Road, a shopping paradise as well as a great place to take a wonderful walk to experience the modern atmosphere of the city.

After lunch, you will visit the Shanghai Museum, one of the best four museums in China which has collected many exhibits of bronzes, paintings, calligraphy, sculpture, ceramics, jade from the Qing dynasty. The tour ends follow by being transferred you back to the hotel in Shanghai.

In Neolithic period, the local people of Hangzhou created a great prehistoric civilization. 　　Chinese Acrobatics is one of the oldest performing arts. Its history can be traced back to Neolithic times. It is believed that acrobatics grew out of labor and self-defense skills, which people practiced and demonstrated during their leisure time. The early performance is "walking on three-meter-high stilts while juggling seven gaggers". Then it developed into an entire art formTogether with the developing economy, acrobatics is also evolving into a kind of performing art. It became well known worldwide while performances are presented along the Silk Road. In Europe and North America, Chinese acrobatic performances always attract large audiences.

　　Many acrobatic shows come from the art performance of living skills and labor skills. Acrobatic show has a history of over 2000 years in China. It is named as “Baixi” in Han dynasty, “sanle” in Sui and Tang Dynasty, named as Acrobatic after Tang and Song dynasty in order to differentiate from acts in other forms.

　　There are nine specialties in acrobatic.

　　Acrobatic pays lot of attentions on leg and waist training. Since ancient, Chinese acrobat focus on the position “top”. There are many “Stand on one’s head”, and “somersault” depicted in ancient fresco and earthenwares. For Chinese acrobatic, including actor of ancient show, he should has very deep Kung Fu foundation.

　　“Stable” out of “steep” while “move” is out of “stable” are both for showing a very quiet and accurate hard skill. Such as walking on the steel rod which require all actions for stable. The moving bench and ladder, one after another, but needs the man on the top find the stable from the move and it require a stable head, super skill, and hard training . It shows fully the super skill of our mankind conquering danger and difficulties.

　　“Unique” is out of the “usual”. From none to everything, it fully shows our mankind creating the world. Different from western magic, which focus on colorful stage property, Chinese magic only needs very simple property. From cuisine to fish and bird alive, a simple long sleeve gown can turn out everything. Or one somersault can turn into a firing bronze basin or another one for a fish bowl with water and fish.

　　Hard and soft Kung Fu combines. Kicking is mostly acted by women. The actor lies and kick thing including wine jar, colorful bowl, clock, tables, ladder, wooden pole, wooden plate, drum and bell, from weightless umbrella to heavy living persons. Things kicked is rotating quickly, jumping back and forth. From the smooth vase to heavy wooden desk, everything is kicked so quickly only for image, not for picture.

Yes everything was spectacular and fascinating very professional and prompt services. There were beautiful places to explore and to see in the 4 hours that we had. The comfort and beauty of the China was incredible, The history, culture and way of life of the local people we bumped into during the layover was beyond our expectations. Hiking on the Great wall after driving through a small remote countryside was very relaxing and rejuvenating. It was the best trip ever to experience on a few hours.

We had not previously used a travel agency for touring. The crew including the driver and tour guide were really funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Despite having limited time we still had free time allowing for shopping and grabbing a meal and drinks. Highly recommend this layover in Beijing.

I used China tour company to visit Hangzhou on on feb 7th. It’s a private tour. The experience is very pleasant and enjoyable. Tour guide Mr. Mark Zhou was very good. He speaks good English and very patient. He knows his stuff. I visited West Lake , Buddhist temple and the Pagoda. The tour was very enjoying and place (Hangzhou) is a must to see if you wish to enjoy the nature and Chinese culture and tradition. I recommend it to every one visiting China.

How to Book?

1. You can book online, choose to pay the deposit or full payment. We accept payment by PayPal, Credit Card, Wechat and Bank Transfer. After booking, we will send you a booking confirmation email.

2. When you arrive at the departure city, the exactly pick up time will inform by your tour guide though your hotel one night before your tour date.

3.Pick-up Service: To ensure the morning pick-up going smoothly as scheduled, we suggest you choose downtown hotels within the fourth ring road of the city. An additional transfer fee will be incurred if your hotel is outside the above mentioned area. If your hotel is located in a narrow lane or an apartment block, we suggest you find the nearest hotel on the main street as your pick-up point.

Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel at least 7 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is no cancellation fee.

If you cancel between 3 and 6 day(s) in advance of the scheduled departure, there is a 50 percent cancellation fee.

If you cancel within 2 day(s) of the scheduled departure, there is a 100 percent cancellation fee.

Hotel, flight and train ticket fees are not refundable.
