Rain Flower Terrace
Rain Flower Terrace, also called Yu Hua Tai(雨花台) in Chinese, surrounds by appealing hills and forest covering an area of 153.7 hectares. It is one of the outstanding new-democratic revolution memory land.
History
It has more than 3,000 years and famous for the great spot for enjoying beautiful views. Rain Flower Terrace was originally called Carnelian Hillock or Treasure Hillock during the Three Kingdoms. In legend, an eminent monk Yunguang during Southern Dynasty preached the doctrines of Buddhism, the speed is so eloquent so that he moved not only the common people but also the heavenly God, the rain falling from the sky just like flowers, hence this place got the name “Rain Flower Terrace”. Many poems written by historical celebrities praise its beauty and history heritage. Since 1927, Rain Flower Terrace becomes the execution ground for Kuo Min Tang to killing patriotic persons and communists.

Martyrs Memorial Complex
When entering Rain Flower Terrace, travelers will find a set of status describing glorious images vividly before martyrs die for their faith. Built in 1979, the sculpture is 10.03 meters high and 14.2 meters wide. It is composed of 179 pieces of granite, with a total weight of about 1,300 tons.
Monument
The monument stands on the square for 42.3 meters high (meaning the liberation of Nanjing on April 23, 1949), 7 meters wide and 5 meters thick. On the front of the tablet, inscribed words “YuHuaTai Martyr Monument” by Dengxiaoping, the 2nd Chairman of CPC. A 5-meter-high bronze statue of a revolutionary warrior stands in the front of the monument.
Memorial Hall
The Memorial Hall, covering an area of 5,900 square meters, designed by the famous architecture Yang Yan Bao. It is a modern building with the national style, displaying the historical records of these respectful martyrs.
Rain Flower Stone Museum
Rain Flower Stone Museum is the first museum for investigating stone, disseminate its beauty, knowledge and culture.
Rain Flower Pavilion
It’s one of 47 best scenes of Nanjing City. Rebuilt in 1997, it has three floors and four upward eaves, displaying beautiful painting inside to trace the history Rain Flower Terrace. Some historical relics, antique and artifacts, calligraphy also decorated this elegant pavilion.
