Sha Tin Racecourse is one of the two racecourses for horse racing in Hong Kong. It is located in Sha Tin in the New Territories. It is managed by Hong Kong Jockey Club. Sha Tin Racecourse was built in 1978 on reclaimed land and is the larger of the two tracks in Hong Kong. Originally built with capacity for 35,000 and one grandstand, it now has capacity for 85,000 and two grandstands. It also has 20 stables for a capacity of 1,260 horses facilitating racing for 10 months yearly. Sha Tin Racecourse is considered a world-class horse racing facility, it is also the Asia’s top. Nowadays, a number of international races are held annually there, that attracts leading jockeys from all over the world for competing.

　　The Sha Tin Racecourse is the biggest horse racing racecourse in Hong Kong. This is where the biggest horse races in Hong Kong are held. It also has one of the biggest TV screens in the world on display just behind the finish line. Once you’re inside, walk towards the racecourse where the races are going to take place. Someone who works there can direct you as to where you want to go. Along the way you may see some booths or shops selling merchandise. Some of these items include a horse stuffed animal, t-shirts, tote bags, and notebooks.
　　Before the race starts, all the jockeys walk into a separate arena with their horse so that everyone can see the horses and the jockeys before the race starts. This is an important part of the race because people need to see the contestants before they decide who they think will win the race. You can get a close up view of the horses and jockeys in here.When you get to the racetrack you’ll see tons of people holding papers with information about all the contestants in the race of that day. Most people buy a newspaper to get this information ahead of time. You can also purchase a racing program at the racecourse. There will most likely be a big line of people in front of the booths where you can place bets on which horse you think will win the race.
