Day 1 Arrival in Guiyang

Welcome to Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province. Upon your arrival, your warmhearted Guizhou tour guide and driver will greet you at the airport or railway station, then you’ll be escorted to a local hotel and check-in. The rest of the day is free for you to explore.

Recommend activity: Wander around Qianling Park where you can stretch your legs and enjoy the beautiful landscape, worship at Hongfu Temple and watch naughty monkeys. On the top of the mountain, you will have a panoramic view of the whole Guiyang city. Later head to elegant Jiaxiu Tower, the symbol of Guiyang with a history of more than 400 years. Climb to the top, the scenery of the Nanming River is quite beautiful.

Day 2 Guiyang-Anshun by Private Vehicle

Huangguoshu Waterfall

In the morning, check out from the hotel and drive around 2 hours to Huangguoshu Waterfall. Entering inside, take the sightseeing bus to Tianxiqiao Scenic Spot, regarded as the Karst floating stone forest. The unique stones are scattered all over the place, you’ll enjoy the enchanting lakes, caves, floating stone forest, elegant stone bridges. Take some pictures at the beautiful Silver Pendant Waterfall. After enjoying delicious lunch at a local restaurant, take the sightseeing bus to Huangguoshu Waterfall, the only waterfall that can be viewed from multiple angles. When the water is sufficient, it is like a flood dragon into the pool, shattering and deafening. The scene is extremely spectacular. At last, pay a short visit to the shooting place of Journey to the West-Doupotang Waterfall. Check in a hotel in Anshun and have a relaxing rest!

Kindly Note: The best travel time to Huanggushu Waterfall is from June to October.

After breakfast, drive to Dragon Palace, a magnificent underground karst cave where combines beautiful lake, waterfalls and stalactites, gorges, cliffs, stone forest etc. Inside the cave, pay a visit of the biggest temple in the cave in China-Dragon Palace Guanyin Cave and enjoy the whirling water at the pond. In the spring, the field of the rape flowers bloom, making this place more beautiful. After enjoying delicious local lunch, head to Denon Tunpu where stone buildings are solid after hundreds of years which made of glutinous rice flour, lime and clay. Besides, you will enjoy the traditional clothes and local drama-Nuo Xi, also called Ghost Opera or Ground Opera, and it’s a traditional dance for entertaining deities and expelling ghosts. When playing the drama, the actors will wear colorful masks, quite interesting. At last, return to Guiyang hotel.

Day 4 Departure from Guiyang

Check out from hotel in the morning, drive to Qingyan Ancient Town. Enjoy the elegant historical buildings, temples, pavilions and residences as you taking a leisurely stroll inside the town. You will visit the Former Residence of Scholar Zhao Yijiong, the first literate scholar in Guizhou history; hike to the top of the ancient city wall and have a panoramic view of the whole town even taking some Instagram style photos at Back Street where the smooth stone has been scoured and polished after hundreds of years, now the stones look like a mirror reflecting the lividity shine, bringing traveler into a fantastic travel experience. After enjoying the local delicious lunch, you will be sent to the railway station or airport for departure!

Yes everything was spectacular and fascinating very professional and prompt services. There were beautiful places to explore and to see in the 4 hours that we had. The comfort and beauty of the China was incredible, The history, culture and way of life of the local people we bumped into during the layover was beyond our expectations. Hiking on the Great wall after driving through a small remote countryside was very relaxing and rejuvenating. It was the best trip ever to experience on a few hours.

We had not previously used a travel agency for touring. The crew including the driver and tour guide were really funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Despite having limited time we still had free time allowing for shopping and grabbing a meal and drinks. Highly recommend this layover in Beijing.

Well worth it! Jenny was really nice and incredibly helpful with the immigration process after airport personnel originally escorted to the wrong area and didn’t want to allow leaving the airport. She takes great photos! Beautiful views and fun to take the toboggan down. Wasn’t too crowded on this day - and definitely worth doing with a 7 hour layover. Nice car and driver too.
