One of three other National Botanical Gardens in China that is also the oldest and largest South Asian tropical botanical garden with the highest number of species in China hence the name Tropical and Sub-tropical Botanic Museum. The garden boats of a remarkable collection of exotic plants and also a center of scientific research and cultural heritage.

Introduction
Located 5 miles in the suburbs north of Guangzhou at the foot of Huolu hill, the garden covers an area of 741 acres and was first set up in 1929. The whole park covers 315 hectares and is made up of different plant species subdivided into sections composed of palm floras, shaded plants, relict floras, economical plants, gymnosperms, antipollution plants and tropical greenhouse floras. It is also further divided into an exhibition zone, residential zone, research zone, nature zone and nursery zone.
Major attractions and activities to do on a visit
The botanical garden is set up in the midst of hills, lakes, streams and caves with over 4000 types of plants including more than 2000 tropical and sub-tropical plants transplanted from abroad and other regions of China. Tourists especially researchers and photographers are particularly fascinated by the rare plant species.
Cultural buffs will be impressed by the recreated village setting maintaining and displaying China's history and culture in addition to a Science Education and Information Center set up in the most interactive exhibition center for learning.
In addition to this there is also an introduced entertainment set up in the garden for the fishing club and paint balling which make visiting more than just a learning experience but also a fun experience.
Visitors can also dine at Qilin Pavilion restaurant located inside the botanical garden serving mouthwatering delicacies.
