Day 1 Arrival in Chengdu

Your private tour guide and driver will welcomingly greet you at Chengdu airport or Chengdu Train Station. Then driven to the Jinsha Site Museum, in which you will see many historical relics regarding Kingdom Shu and surprise at the high standard of golden crafts. In the afternoon, go to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding where is the best environment for rearing and breeding. You can explore the daily life of the cute pandas, and see them eating bamboo.

Day 2 Chengdu-Leshan-Chengdu by Private Vehicle

Leshan Giant Buddha

Tour guide and driver pick you up from the hotel in the morning. Drive to Leshan city(2.5 h) where you might board a riverboat for the best view of the Leshan Giant Buddha. The massive Buddha was carved out of a cliff with a history of more than a thousand years, but now it still looks very complete and best-preserved in superb craftsmanship. The tour ends from sending you back hotel in Chengdu.

Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Qingcheng Mountain

Tour guide and driver pick you up from the hotel in the morning. Hop in a cozy car to Dujiangyan City (1.5 h). At first, you visit Dujiangyan Irrigation System which provides water for Chengdu plain for over 1000 years and still functions well nowadays. After lunch, you will continue the sightseeing to Mount Qingcheng which is a nice place to seek serenity. You can take a boat on Yuecheng Lake, then arrive in the middle of the mountain by cable car and finally climb to the top, where the famous Taoist temple Shangqing lies. In the afternoon, descend Mount Qingcheng and are sent back hotel in Chengdu.

Day 4 Departure from Chengdu

Wuhou Temple, Jinli Ancient Street, Transfer Service & Farewell

The tour begins from Wuhou Temple for memorizing the prime minister of Shu of the Three Kingdoms-Zhuge Liang. Now Wuhou Shrine becomes a museum, the largest museum in China displaying the relics and introducing the history of the Three Kingdom. Then you have a walk along Jinli Ancient Street which is a major tourist attraction in Chengdu, which boasts of ancient buildings, traditional cultures, local food and customs. Let's try some spicy Sichuan-style snacks. After lunch, you are transferred to Chengdu Airport or Chengdu Railway Station for your next destination.

Yes everything was spectacular and fascinating very professional and prompt services. There were beautiful places to explore and to see in the 4 hours that we had. The comfort and beauty of the China was incredible, The history, culture and way of life of the local people we bumped into during the layover was beyond our expectations. Hiking on the Great wall after driving through a small remote countryside was very relaxing and rejuvenating. It was the best trip ever to experience on a few hours.

We had not previously used a travel agency for touring. The crew including the driver and tour guide were really funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Despite having limited time we still had free time allowing for shopping and grabbing a meal and drinks. Highly recommend this layover in Beijing.

Well worth it! Jenny was really nice and incredibly helpful with the immigration process after airport personnel originally escorted to the wrong area and didn’t want to allow leaving the airport. She takes great photos! Beautiful views and fun to take the toboggan down. Wasn’t too crowded on this day - and definitely worth doing with a 7 hour layover. Nice car and driver too.
